A Georgian bronze, brass and iron money box almost certainly made in Birmingham at the Soho Works of Matthew Boulton who started his meteoric career as a manufacturer of ormolu and this was made towards the end of the 18th Century. The original slot could take cartwheel pennies and twopences. Given as a gift in 1905 the later copper additions (plaque & money slot cover)  wre added and reduced the slit to 20th century sized coinage. Complete with original key. £320.00
